How do I export PDF from Figma?

Figma has become the industry standard tool for user interface and user experience designers. But a lot of people have started using it for more than web design. It's starting to be used for presentations, advanced prototyping and increasingly popular - people have started using it more for creating PDF layouts.

How do I export PDF from Figma?

Figma has a built in tool for exporting your wireframes and layout and it lets you export PNG, SVG, JPG and - you guessed it PDFs. There's also a lot of community built plugins which give you other options for export but as a designer these are more than enough to let you get your work in front of your client or boss.

So, to export to PDF you can simply select your layer or your wireframe and on the bottom right panel called Export you'll have a few export options that look like this:

To export to PDF just select the dropdown options from the panel. You can also export it to upscaled sizes - but PDFs usually work with vectors so it will get scaled by default on page zoom so there's really no need to upscale more than the initial size.

One thing to keep in mind is that you might run into issues if you use custom fonts. They will work on your device but if you send them to a client who doesn't have the font installed they will not be able to see your original design - it will just get reverted to default fonts.
If the PDF gets opened in browser and is using default google fonts then it should work properly without requiring any font installs.

To summarize, to export wireframes and layers to PDF in Figma all you have to do is select them and click the export button on the right panel of the screen
