How do I do a scroll overlay in Figma?

Implementing scrolling in Figma prototypes can be a bit tricky and confusing if you're not exactly experienced. But the good thing is once you get used to it things become less intimidating.

I've made a similar post about horizontal scrolling which pretty much uses the same exact principle, you might want to take a look at it if it's something you're looking for. Here's the Youtube tutorial:

The same way you do horizontal scrolling. Anything which involves scrolling means that you have to create a component first after which you have to go to prototype and enable scrolling in the direction you want it to scroll.

After that you just resize your component so that nothing gets overflowed on the screen or it's not wide enough to cover the whole prototype. And you run your prototype, which should work just fine (if you followed the tutorial above at least).

Conclusion

In short, to do a scroll overlay in Figma you have to firstly create a component after which you go to prototype -> scrolling and pick how you want your component to scroll. And that's all.
