How do you use Font Awesome in Figma?

Font Awesome is a popular icon library that is used by hundreds of thousands of websites. Currently the latest version of the pack is 6 Pro but I'm assuming by the time you read this there already are newer versions. As of 2020 over 40% of websites on the internet use it for their icons.

How do you use Font Awesome in Figma?

You use Font Awesome Icons just like you would use any other icon pack. Two options: the first one is you manually download SVG files from the font awesome website and drag and drop them into your Figma project.

Or the second option is you use a plugin that does everything for you - you just search for the icon you want and click import. A popular Figma plugin is Font Awesome Icons:

It's not officially made by them, it's community made which means it might not support all the latest icon versions. But still, it's free to use and there's a lot of icons to chose from, so it's better than nothing.

Another alternative is you use a file that contains all the icon components. You can find it here. It has components for FA6 pro, free, 5 Pro and 5 free.

All icons are vectors which means they are fully customizable.

Conclusion

To summarize, if you're looking to get Font Awesome icons into your Figma project you either download them from the official website and import it back or you use a community made plugin to do it for you
