How Do I Outline an Image in Canva?

Creating an outline around an image can really help it stand out, and Canva is a great tool to do this. It's easy to use, and with just a few clicks you can have a professional-looking result. 

If you're not familiar with Canva, it's an online design platform that enables you to create a wide range of designs, from logos to presentations. you'll need to set up an account to use it, but once you're logged in, you can outline your image in no time. 

How Do I Outline an Image in Canva?

First, select the ‘Frames’ option from the menu on the left-hand side of your Canva page. You’ll then be presented with a range of shapes to choose from - you can also upload your own shape if you have one.

Next, find your image, either on your computer or through Canva’s library of stock images. Once you’ve found it, drag and drop it into the shape you’ve previously selected. 

You may need to resize your image so that it fits perfectly within the shape. To do this, select the ‘Move’ option from the top menu and use the arrows to shrink or enlarge the image.

Now it’s time to choose a colour for the outline. This can be done by selecting the ‘Colors’ option from the top menu and chosing one from the pallet. If you’re unsure of which colour to use, you can also select ‘Random’ to get a colour that’s automatically generated. 

Once you’ve picked a color, head back to the ‘Frames’ option and select ‘Border’. Here you can adjust the width and the color of the outline . You can also choose to make the outline dashed or dotted, by selecting "Line" from the same menu.
